Genuine Soul

Today we come across an individual who behaves like an automaton,

who does not know or understand himself,

and the only person that he knows is the person that he is supposed to be,

whose meaningless chatter has replaced communicative speech,

whose synthetic smile has replaced genuine laughter,

and whose sense of dull despair has taken the place of genuine pain.

Two statements may be said concerning this individual.

One is that he suffers from defects of spontaneity and individuality which may seem to be incurable.

At the same time it may be said of him he does not differ essentially from the millions of the rest of us who walk upon this earth.

Erich Fromm

Nowadays, people are so obsessed in becoming the person they are 'supposed to be'. We often take shortcuts to establish quick relationships. Friendships have become so convenient that we often just take things for granted. We laugh when we are 'supposed to' laugh. We say things we think are appropriate and smart.

Genuine souls are hard to come by these days.

My dearest friends,

When was the last time you see a person as the person that he/she is and speak from your heart?

Have you seen or experienced genuine laughter, genuine pain and pure spontaneity lately?

Always smile from your heart.

Miss you lots! ;)

The Meaning in Life by John Gardner

Meaning

Meaning is not something you stumble across, like the answer to a riddle or the prize in a treasure hunt.

Meaning is something you build into your life. You build it out of your own past, out of your affections and loyalties, out of the experience of humankind as it is passed on to you, out of your own talent and understanding, out of the things you believe in, out of the things and people you love, out of the values for which you are willing to sacrifice something.
The ingredients are there.

You are the only one who can put them together into that pattern that will be your life.

Let it be a life that has dignity and meaning for you.
If it doesn't, then the particular balance of success or failure is of less account.

John Gardner

You are your past, your affections, your loyalties, your talent, your understanding, your beliefs, your love, your values, your sacrifice.

You are the one to shape the pattern of your life because you have a choice, always.

Live a meaningful life. So true.

Realize

Take time to realize,
That your warmth is. Crashing down on in.
Take time to realize,
That I am on your side
Didn't I, Didn't I tell you.

But I can't spell it out for you,
No it's never gonna be that simple
No I cant spell it out for you
If you just realize what I just realized,
Then we'd be perfect for each other
And will never find another
Just realized what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other now.

Take time to realize
Oh-oh I'm on your side
Didn't I, didn't I tell you.
Take time to realize
This all can pass you by.. Didn't I tell you

But I can't spell it out for you,
No its never gonna be that simple
No I can't spell it out for you.

If you just realized what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other
Then we'd never find another
Just realized what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other now.

It's not always the same
No it's never the same
If you don't feel it too.

If you meet me half way
If you would meet me half way.
It could be the same for you.

If you just realized what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other
Then we'd never find another
Just realized what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other now.

Missed out on each other now
Missed out on each other now

Ironic

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
Isn't it ironic ... don't you think
Chorus

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought ... it figures

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
'Well isn't this nice...'
And isn't it ironic ... don't you think
Repeat Chorus

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face

It's a traffic jam when you're already late
It's a no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
A little too ironic... and yeah I really do think...
Repeat Chorus

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out

Lucky

Do you hear me,
I'm talking to you

Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you, I will

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair
though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
